This form is the progressed Balsamic Moon, established when the progressed Sun and Moon draw within roughly 45 degrees of one another at the end of the approximately 29-to-30-year cycle. The Sun is closing the old cycle while the Moon absorbs and digests its accumulated experience, so outward advancement recedes and completion, release, and preparation take priority. Unlike the progressed Last Quarter, which still evaluates and redirects an active cycle, the Balsamic phase clears what remains before the next progressed New Moon.
